FAIR WEAR AND TEAR POLICY

Please read to avoid misunderstanding at the conclusion of the contract period.

We aim to be reasonable in our interpretation of ‘Fair Wear & Tear’ and the resultant charges which may be made where a motorcycle does not comply with our policy. However, where evidence of mis-use, neglect or abuse is present, we will invoice the cost of reparation to return the vehicle to its rightful condition.

Our motorcycles are leased with the understanding that they are used in the pursuit of business. Therefore, we explicitly require that wear and tear associated with any activity which does not fall into this category is rectified before the machine is returned. Trials, Off-Road and Race Track use are strictly prohibited.

We will not cover damage, replacement parts or repairs occasioned by use on racetracks, or any off road activity.

The motorcycle should be returned in a roadworthy and ride-able condition. For the avoidance of doubt, this should include, but not be limited to:
• Full service history record completed
• Starter operational
• Engine function normal
• Brakes, clutch, throttle, working normally
• Tyres with at least 1.5mm tread
• Lights, indicators and ‘kill switch’ (plus side-stand cut-off where appropriate) in full working order
• Chain correctly tensioned
• Wheels free from rim damage however caused.
• Absence of oil, petrol and coolant leaks
• Original exhaust system
• Full size and legal number plates

We will accept;
• Minor scuffs to body panels, mirrors and bar ends
• Worn suspension appropriate to mileage
• Manufacturer approved and enhanced brake pads or other safety related equipment

We recharge remedial work for;
• Broken exhaust systems
• Broken mudguards, body panels, lights or indicators
• Torn seat materials
• Altered paint scheme
• Replacement of standard manufacturer items which have been removed i.e. luggage racks, panniers etc.
• Absence of  service book (£200 re-charge)
• Scraped or damaged foot pegs, exhausts, bodywork
• Badly scratched or broken screen
• Bent or broken brake/clutch levers, footbrake and gear change mechanisms
• Non-approved engine management system alterations e.g. chipped, enhanced tuning, de-restriction etc

The above is an indication of the condition in which we expect the motorcycle to be returned.

Please ensure that it is treated with the care recommended by the manufacturer and it will be safe, reliable and a pleasure to ride.
