Carrier Transicold improves response times

Pullman Fleet Services approached specialist motorcycle leasing company, Motorcycle Management, to provide an immediate response facility for the service and repair of Carrier Transicold refrigeration units.

Carrier were keen to make use of motorcycles but had always dismissed the idea on the basis that they couldn’t get up high to reach refrigeration units. Through innovation, Motorcycle Management has proved that the problems of carrying difficult objects can be overcome and this enables service engineers and other maintenance staff to gain access to areas previously unreachable.

Director, Tony Draycott was particularly proud of his company’s involvement in this bespoke project, and explained “Motorcycle Management designed a rack that would allow a motorcycle to carry a 3.8m ladder. The Honda ST1300 Pan European was specified on the basis of its suitability to safely carry such a large object. The design, precision engineering and conversion was all managed and funded by Motorcycle Management.” Not only that, but the motorcycle also carries the new generation Garmin 2720 GPS, a Starcom Communicatiion System and a hazard warning system that has never before been seen in the UK.

This innovation has serious ramifications for companies who need to provide services to their customers efficiently and in congested areas. It may just mean the end of having to rely on vans & cars to carry access equipment when working in urban environments.
